PRESERVATION

My whole life, the Lord has preserved me and protected me - even when I didn’t know Him. Growing up I was always the good kid. There are many sinful things and ways of this world that the traditional young American boy would’ve indulged in by now that the Lord has kept me from this far. However, don’t get it twisted. I’m perfect by no means, I’m a sinner that has been forgiven and redeemed by the blood of Jesus. But you see, the problem with my good morale and “church kid” lifestyle growing up was that it simply was just that: “Good” morality and a little bit of church. It created a fallacy of pride and thinking I had it made, when in reality I was as lost as the next guy… but then came Jesus.

At 14 I heard the truth of the gospel for the first time. I realized my lifestyle wasn’t being lived because of a relationship with Jesus, rather out of refusing to disappoint my parents. I realized what conviction was. I realized that only by God’s grace through faith in Jesus alone (Ephesians 2:8) I would be saved. However, even then it took 5 more years to step out of my comfort and further realize that God had a calling on my life. A call to ministry. A calling not only to know Him but to make Him known to the world. And now. Here we are, taking each step, each leap, each mile, by faith. (Hebrews 11:1)

To know Him and to make Him know.
